This exceptional set of 4 cantilever chairs with a plexiglass shell and chrome frame is in excellent condition. The plexiglass seat shell, formed from one piece, rests on a chrome-plated tubular steel frame. The backrest is only attached to the frame at the back, creating a very light, almost floating construction. The upholstery is made of sand-colored Alcantara, which only shows minimal signs of wear. The chrome plating on the frames is shiny and in very good condition.
The architect Hans Könecke designed various pieces of furniture for DK Muebles in his studio in Caracas and founded the Tecta factory in Lauenförde at the end of the 1950s. Here he designed a large number of pieces of furniture in combination with his favorite material, Plexiglas, such as the well-known D49 chair. These chairs come from this design line and show a very rare variant of Könecke's designs. Investment in design.
