An exceptional set of two lounge chairs, presumably from the Palace of the Republic in Berlin. The solid frame made of strip steel, painted gray, gives the chairs exceptional stability. Combined with the solid wooden frame and high-quality wool fabric, this chair demonstrates the high standards of craftsmanship. The legs of the chairs, with stone-effect plastic blocks between the straps, show slight signs of wear. The cream-colored wool covers are in very good condition. The upholstery of the chairs is impeccable and guarantees a high level of comfort. The chairs come in the rare version with armrests.
The armchairs come from the Röhl manufactory in Potsdam, which during the GDR era exclusively produced armchairs for western countries, such as the Konferstar by Rudolf Horn, or the nomenklatura of East Germany.
